Dear Friends,
This week my son went through his three month growth spurt and regressed back to sleeping less than 2 hours at a time. Between the sleep deprivation from that experience and traveling today to visit my parents in Baltimore, I haven't been able to pull together worship for this week. Over and over these past few days I have sat with the scripture from the week and tried to willed myself to write—to reflect. God though, in small and silent ways, has been telling me to breathe, to rest, and to release. I’ve fought that message most of today, trying to write in the airport and in between my son's naps and now, watching my parents delight in playing with their grandson, I understand God’s message more fully. Release and be present.
So instead of a full worship today (and apologizes for the lateness of this post) I encourage you to center in and take a moment to be present; to release the tensions and worries and stresses of your week and turn your attention to God. Below are some Gregorian chants to help you ground your devotional time. I find these chants and other like them calming and centering, allowing me to turn release my worries and surrender to the Holy Spirit.
Please join me next Friday as I resume the regularly structured Online Programmed Meeting for Worship. If you are interested in contributing a message at some point in the future, please let me know. And as before, if you have any prayer requests, please leave them in a comment or contact me directly.
Blessings to all.
